Problem or issue description: The LF 2016 Remap Public LFRDB has been updated to include the addition of adjusted Ecological System codes and labels that were used in the mapping process. Some plots have been reclassified based on initial model results and expert review, and problematic plots have been removed (for example, plots labeled as alpine EVT's that were located in lowland areas). Two fields, AdjEcoSysCd and AdjEcoSys representing adjusted Ecological System Code and adjusted Ecological System Name, have been added to the dtCommunities table in each database that contain the adjusted Ecological Systems labels.
Reason for alert:
LF Remap Alaska Public Events Geodatabase was updated.
Updated product(s) or information: Two of the LF Remap Public Events Geodatabase layers: AK_200_PublicModelReadyEvents and AK_200_PublicRawEvents. These layers were updated on 08/07/2020.
Problem or issue description: It was discovered that there were some contributed large 2016 fire perimeters in Alaska that had been labeled with an incorrect year. It was decided to delete these from the public version of the Events and not to include them in Alaska Disturbance data. Users are advised to download the updated Public Events Geodatabase layers and delete local copies of these products that were downloaded prior to 08/07/2020. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
Reference products were input for the LF Update process by providing cause of change on the landscape, as well as being useful for LF's ongoing remap efforts. Public versions of LF reference database, which exclude proprietary and/or sensitive data, are available for download.
